After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Pittsburgh and completing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pharmacy.umaryland.edu\/residentsfellows\/programs\/communitypractice.html\"><strong>pharmacy practice residency with an emphasis in community pharmacy<\/strong><\/a> at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, she joined the School\u2019s faculty where she now serves an associate professor in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pharmacy.umaryland.edu\/about\/depts\/pps\/\"><strong>Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science (PPS)<\/strong><\/a> and as assistant dean for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pharmacy.umaryland.edu\/about\/campus\/shadygrove\/\"><strong>Universities at Shady Grove<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During her time at the School, Congdon has become one of the University\u2019s strongest advocates for interprofessional education (IPE). She was <a href=\"http:\/\/news.pharmacy.umaryland.edu\/sops-congdon-named-codirector-of-universitys-center-for-ipe\/\"><strong>named co-director of the Center for Interprofessional Education<\/strong><\/a> at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) in 2013, and her course \u201cAn Interprofessional Approach to the Critically Ill Patient\u201d is wildly popular among pharmacy, nursing, social work, and respiratory therapy students.
