CAREER NAVIGATION PUTS STUDENTS ON PATH TO SUCCESS

Written By: Margaret Hayes, MS, Director of Student Services and Outreach and Career Navigation Administrator

Launching a career in the ever-evolving pharmacy profession can be daunting for new graduates. To help prepare our student pharmacists to enter the dynamic job market, the Office of Student Affairs at the School of Pharmacy established the Career Navigation Program to bridge the gap between the career preparation skills covered in its Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum and the skills that employers and other stakeholders say are crucial for employment in the profession. Our staff organizes events and workshops, such as our annual Career Fair, to assist students in areas such as resume building, financial planning, and mock interviews. We also keep students and alumni up-to-date on internship, residency, fellowship, and job openings to ensure that nobody misses an opportunity.

Our services are available to students at both the Baltimore and Shady Grove campuses. Watch the video below for an overview of the program, and to learn more about both past and upcoming events.
